ADP Payroll Specialist-Charleston, SC
Charles Foster Company has an immediate opening for a highly experienced ADP Payroll Specialist. This is a part-time, temporary position with a local company in the Downtown area. Approx. 20 hours per week to start at $13.00-$15.00 per hour depending on experience.

 This position will support the accounting team during a system conversion. Responsibilities will include weekly payroll processing, monthly commission processing, assisting with the completion and modification of system setup and helping with benefit accrual implementation.

 The ideal candidate MUST be proficient with ADP Software and have the ability to work as part of a dynamic team as well as be self-managed. Additionally, bookkeeping and/or experience preparing profit and loss statements is highly desirable.

Finance Manager-Charleston, SC

Charles Foster Company is actively recruiting for a Finance Manager role with a manufacturing company in the Charleston area. Manufacturing environment experience is strongly preferred. Solid IT skills to include Excel and Word, SAGE Accounting software is a plus. The ideal candidate will have first class management and people skills, a track record of strategic and operational achievement and be a confident decision maker. The client is also looking for an individual who is comfortable working in a small corporate environment.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for running all aspects of finance and HR
  • Operation of day to day accounting function including AP, AR, production measurement and product costing, bank account operation, fixed assets, month end close process; 
  • Production of weekly and monthly management information and group reporting ensuring financial integrity, accuracy and timeliness of submission;
  • Daily cash and working capital management;
  • Responsibility for operation of the Company’s bi-weekly payroll, interfacing with our nominated payroll bureau and ensuring timely and accurate associated tax filings;
  • Statutory and taxation reporting requirements for the company;
  • Business planning and performance analysis including preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and half yearly reforecasts for the US operations, identifying areas for improvement and formulizing and implementing action plans;
  • Support CEO and operational managers in the delivery of business targets and objectives and understanding reported numbers;
  • Supporting the Group Finance Director with the improvement and development of effective and robust internal and operational controls and financial systems within the business;
  • Systems integrity, optimizing the use and accuracy of the SAGE accounting system, with transfer to SAGE 50 Quantum Manufacturing planned for current financial year;
  • Provision of financial expertise in the development of customer and supplier relationships;
  • Continuing development and assessment of the Company’s ISO Quality accreditation; and
  • Day to day requirements of general office management duties to include responsibility for utility contracts, office supplies etc.

Controller-Rome, GA

An automotive parts manufacturer is looking for a talented Controller to manage their business functions and partner with plant and financial management to effectively provide financial guidance, support, and leadership in running their business. Focus is to lead the finance team at its Rome, GA plant and be responsible for business analysis, general accounting, payables, order entry, billing, cost accounting, bill of materials, financial reporting, and business planning.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage month-end activities, variance analysis, and monthly reconciliation. Lead the plant’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Participate in Kaizen events to improve productivity and prepare analysis to support new capital equipment with a complete understanding of IRR, payback, and NPV of investments
  • Ensure there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including; data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX, compliance, etc.)
  • Develop and standardize daily, weekly, and monthly plan performance reporting, including KPI’s and reporting in support of continuous improvement efforts as well as educate plant personnel on these key indicators.
  • Analyze and accurately report current month’s financial results to the plant, leadership team, and corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.
  • Analyze changes on product configuration, raw materials, manufacturing methods and services provided, to determine the effects on product costs and internal product margins.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the standard costs. This starts will the bill of materials and item cost, labor routings, labor rates, as well as overhead assignments.
  • Provide in-depth analysis on variances to plan, forecast, and prior year.
  • Act as a resource to the non-financial leaders of the business providing education and training on the key principles of Finance.
  • Provide insightful and competitive analytics that anticipates change and drive decision making.
  • Work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, division or corporate objectives.

 Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field. Master‘s preferred.
  • Proven skills managing finance team and working closely with plant leadership in achieving plant/company goals and objectives.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 certification.
